Best known as Marty the Barber, is an Award-Winning Master Barber who exemplifies excellence in service, specializing in creative designs and styles in the barbering industry. Marty is recognized for his impressive cuts that represents his attention to detail to help his clients achieve their desired look. In September of 2011, he was laid off from his job at Lowe’s where he worked for 5 years. After this life-changing event, Marty began providing haircuts to friends and family. As he sharpened his skills, and with much practice, hard work, support and dedication, he turned his side hustle into a career and has never looked back. In July of 2013, Marty graduated from the District of Columbia’s Bennett Career Institute and became a licensed barber stylist. Since then, he has won various awards in local barber competitions. Among those awards, Immac Magazine’s 2018 DMV’s Baddest Barber, 2018 Shani Gray’s Beauty Ball as Trailblazer of the year, and 1st place in multiple professional and student competitions at Bennett Career Institute including Barber of the Year, and Best Barber Creation.
